Seth Guikema Subject of Baltimore Sun Article on Model for Utilities' Storm Preparations

Dr. Guikema's model for translating weather forecast data and U.S. census records into an estimate of power outages was featured in The Baltimore Sun this week. The model itself has its origins in 2005 during Guikema's time at Texas A&M University, and additional research was published in 2009. Now, Dr. Guikema has expanded the model to a broader application with the potential for use by utility companies during upcoming storms.
