Multiple Objective Decision Analysis Course

Course Description:  The course objective is to provide an analyst the technical and practical experience to prepare them to perform a decision analysis using multiple objectives.  Decision analysis is the appropriate operations research/management science technique for difficult problems involving multiple stakeholders, complex value tradeoffs, significant outcomes, and risks due to major uncertainties.  Decision analysis is used for evaluation of alternatives and resource allocation (portfolio) decision making. Several decision analysis applications are presented.  Student teams will perform a decision analysis for a significant professional decision.

The cost is $1,950. Parking on site is free and easy. A discount of $200 for early registration is available, and there is a $200 group registration discount (after the first registrant).  Only one discount per person.

Course materials: Participants will receive bound copies of the course notes, the text, Parnell, G., Bresnick, T., Tani, S., & Johnson, E., Handbook of Decision Analysis, Wiley & Sons, 2013 and Excel files with spreadsheet macros for decision analysis techniques.  Copies of papers are available at https://uark.academia.edu/GregoryParnell.

Payment must accompany registration. Registration closes 7 calendar days before the first day of the course. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

We welcome the enrollment of a substitute in an enrollee’s place, provided the customer notifies us in writing before the first day of the course. IDI will credit 100% of any prepaid course fees against the course fee of the substitute.

Refunds, less a $100 cancellation fee, will be given for cancellations made 7 or more calendar days before the first day of the course. After that, only student substitutions will be allowed.

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule; if we do, you will receive a full refund.

Enrollees are encouraged to bring their own laptops to participate in class examples. Please contact IDI if this is a problem.

IDI will provide drinks and light snacks each day. The course fee does not include lodging, lunch, evening meals, travel or any other expenses that may be incurred by our customer.
