Subject: October 27-29 Bayesian Network course at IDI, starts at 8:30 AM

Here is the info for the BN course this week:  Class time is from 8:30 to 4:30 at our offices at 8230 Old Courthouse Road, Suite 460, Vienna, VA  22182.

Dave Brown from IDI will be joining the 4 instructors on the flyer. He will teach the module on ExtendSim/Netica.

Remember to bring a laptop. The course is hands-on. If you cannot bring one please let us know and we will try to find one for you.

Time is set aside during the course for students to work on a problem from their jobs or their personal lives (that lends itself to a Bayesian network solution). Those students staying for the fourth day will have the opportunity to present their solutions to the class. Please be thinking of possible problems you may want to work on during this part of the course.

On Sunday I will send out the course slides and the example models for the first day.

Contact Joe Tatman for the student password for Netica.

You can download Netica from:       The version you want to download is:       Don't worry about the folder being named "old_versions". The latest version is 5.19, but 5.18 seems to be best when using GeoNetica. Please install Netica on your laptop before Monday morning.

Don't hesitate to ask questions. Look forward to seeing you next week.
