Grace B. Shin
Ms. Shin started her career as an analyst for Innovative Decisions, Inc. in 2019 with roles in projects involving operations research, data analytics, and decision analysis. Ms. Shin helped test results, develop tools, improve visualizations for analysis, and create user guides for the projects she has supported.
Ms. Shin has experience in developing instructional materials and teaching through her previous experience as a long-term substitute for middle and high schools at Fairfax County Public Schools and as a teaching assistant and graduate lecturer at George Mason University for the Computational and Data Sciences department.
As part of her coursework for her M.S. in Data Analytics Engineering at George Mason University, she helped create an automatic business report sectionizer for Nowigence using Python’s natural language processing libraries and tools. She also worked on a project to help improve student online learning and provide resources for instructors during the COVID-19 crisis using Design Thinking strategies. Through her education and experience, Ms. Shin has obtained knowledge in Tableau, Python, SQL, R, Matlab, Excel, and VBA.
